UPSEE Exam Calendar

UPSEE 2018: The Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) is a state level entrance exam conducted by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) for admissions to B. Tech courses in around 323 engineering colleges across Uttar Pradesh. The examination is scheduled to be held in the offline mode on April 15 and online registration for the same is likely to start in the third week of January. Candidates who have passed class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical vocational subject are eligible to apply for UPSEE 2018. In the qualifying examination, candidates must have secured at least aggregate 45% (40% for reserved category candidates). As per UPSEE 2018 exam pattern, there are 150 multiple choice questions in the exam covering Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology. The duration of the exam is 3 hours and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. In 2017, around 1.50 lakh candidates registered for UPSEE in 41 cities of Uttar Pradesh and 8 cities outside the state. UPSEE Important Dates 2018

AKTU has announced exam date of UPSEE 2018. All other important dates of UPSEE 2018 are yet to be announced by AKTU. The table given below lists tentative dates related to various UPSEE events such as dates of registration, availability of admit card, result etc.

UPSEE Eligibility Criteria 2018

AKTU has defined certain eligibility criteria for UPSEE 2018 that every candidate must fulfil. Here are some of the UPSEE eligibility criteria 2018.
  • Academic qualification: Candidates must have qualified 10+2 level examination or any other equivalent examination with Maths and Physics as compulsory subjects and any one of the optional subjects out of Chemistry/ Bio-Technology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject. Candidates opting for B.Tech Biotechnology should have studied either Maths or Biology and Physics as compulsory subjects
  • Minimum qualifying score: Candidates must have secured at least 45% (40% for SC/ ST candidates) in their 10+2 exam. It should be ensured that the applicant must have qualified 10+2 without grace

UPSEE Reservation of Seats 2018

UPSEE 2018 reservation of seats is based on the guidelines issued by the UP government. 15% seats have been reserved by state government for management quota and NRI candidates. Remaining 85% seats are filled with candidates who qualify UPSEE 2018.

UPSEE Application Form 2018

The application form of UPSEE 2018 is likely to be available from the third week of January. The UPSEE application can be filled online. To fill UPSEE application form 2018, candidates have to follow the below-mentioned steps in order:
  • Filling up of UPSEE 2018 application form: Enter personal details, educational details, course applied for, communication details, exam city options, community reservation details
  • Uploading of images: Scanned photograph, signature and left hand thumb impression
  • Application fees payment: The examination fee can be paid online through net banking, debit or credit card.
  • Printing of application form: Download the confirmation page. The candidates need not send the confirmation page to the University. However, the registration number mentioned on it must be secured properly.

To complete the application process, candidates will have to pay a non-refundable application fee. Category wise application fee for 2017 are provided in the table below.

UPSEE Exam Centres 2018

UPSEE 2018 is likely to be conducted in 41 cities in Uttar Pradesh and 8 cities outside Uttar Pradesh. While filling UPSEE application form 2018, candidates will have to select at least three preferences from the list of exam centres. UPSEE Syllabus 2018

UPSEE 2018 syllabus covers chapters from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology. Majority of the syllabus will be similar to the qualifying examination of class 12. In Physics, there are questions from Motion in one dimension, Gravitation, Heatand Thermodynamics etc. Questions are asked from Atomic structure, Polymers, Solid State etc. in Chemistry. Questions in Mathematics section are asked from Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus etc. whereas in Biology there are questions from Applied Biology, Animal Physiology, Botany etc.

UPSEE Sample Papers 2018

Sample Papers of UPSEE 2018 will help candidates to get a fair idea about UPSEE exam pattern 2018. UPSEE Admit Card 2018

The admit card for UPSEE 2018 is likely to be available online in the second week of April and can be downloaded by entering application number and password. UPSEE admit card comprises application number, roll number, exam date, candidates name, name and address of exam centre and candidates passport size photograph. Candidates must carry UPSEE 2018 admit card to the exam centre on the day of examination.

UPSEE exam day guidelines 2018

On the day of the exam, candidates must make sure to follow all the necessary rules. In accordance with the UPSEE exam guidelines, candidates must
  • Carry their UPSEE 2018 admit card and a Blue/ Black ballpoint pen
  • Candidates must reach at least an hour before the commencement of the exam
  • Electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, laptops, tablets etc. are not allowed inside the exam centre

UPSEE Answer Key 2018

AKTU will release the answer key of UPSEE 2018 in the third week of April 2018 after the conclusion of the exam. The answer key will be available online as per the subject paper and set. Candidates will have to download it for their paper set and then match the answers. Candidates can also use the answer keys provided by various coaching institutes to predict their score. However, the predicted score should not be taken as the final result.

UPSEE Result 2018

The result of UPSEE 2018 will be announced online in the last week of May tentatively. The counselling of UPSEE will be based on the ranks obtained by candidates in the entrance exam. In case of any discrepancy, candidates can get their answer sheets scrutinized on payment of Rs. 5000 per paper within seven days of declaration of result. They will have to submit the application for scrutiny to the Registrar, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow (U.P.) 226021 in writing.

UPSEE Cutoff 2018

The cutoff of UPSEE 2018 is the minimum qualifying marks that the candidate has to score to secure admission in the various participating institutes of AKTU. UPSEE cutoff also provides the opening and closing ranks of various participating institutes. Last year the qualifying cut-off of UPSEE was 25% for Gen/OBC candidates while it was 20% for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.

UPSEE Counselling 2018

The counselling of UPSEE 2018 is likely to commence from the third week of June and ends in the second week of August. After the declaration of the UPSEE result 2018, candidates are required to register online for counselling and seat allotment of UPSEE 2018. The counselling of UPSEE will be held in five rounds for candidates who have qualified in the entrance exam. After registration, candidates are required to pay the registration fees and fill their choices of courses and colleges.

UPSEE Seat Allotment 2018

UPSEE seat allotment 2018 will be done on the basis of the rank of candidates in the released rank list and his/her preference of college and course. Through the seat allotment process, candidates will be allotted seats in various undergraduate engineering courses and colleges in the state. Candidates who have paid the registration fee and have locked their choices are required to get their documents verified. After the verification of documents, candidates will be allotted seats according to their preferences of courses and colleges.

The participating institutes of UPSEE 2018 provides names of various undergraduate engineering colleges which grant admission to candidates on the basis of their performance in the exam. On the basis of UPSEE 2018 result, candidates will get admission to around 323 undergraduate engineering colleges across Uttar Pradesh.
